Dave Tylka is the author of the book, ‘Native Landscaping for Wildlife and People’ published by the Missouri Department of Conservation. As an educator, biologist, nature author, and photographer, he will tell us about Missouri native plants and ideas that can inspire any landowner to landscape with native plants. Dave teaches Native and Ozark ecology at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. He and his wife grow about 200 species of native plants in their own backyard.
Lecture starts at 11:00 a.m. at Scruggs Center (Ballroom) located at 819 Chestnut Street followed by book signing, native plant food samples, and garden tours at the Native Plant Outdoor Laboratory located at 900 Chestnut Street (in front of Allen Hall).
Free Parking at Dickinson Research Center 1219 Chestnut Street (Corner of Chestnut Street and Leslie Boulevard) will be available. Shuttles will be provided to the event from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and twice after the event.
